Climbing

San Vito Lo Capo is by far the most popular climbing area in Sicily with more than 1200 routes, spaced only 45 minutes from our kitesurfing spot. The vertical walls right in front of the sea are a real climbers venue. You don’t need to be an expert – learn to climb from a local instructor and enjoy the adrenaline also on no-wind days! Ask for booking with the climbing school in advance.

What is around to see?

Check out our ultimate Sicilian Travel Guide for the best spots and experiences around, so you won’t have to worry about your plans in case of no-wind days.

Favignana boat tour

Trapani

With a charming city centre, various places for shopping local products and bars on every corner, it’s the ideal place for spending an evening out. Have a walk along the harbour and the old city walls, find your favourite coffee place and enjoy the local sweet/salty specialities. There’s more to discover than you’d expect.

Segesta

Want to learn about ancient Greece? Come to Sicily! Discover Sicily's rich Greek monuments located in Segesta. The Doric temple and the theater are remarkable in it’s artistic quality and stylistic features and offer a unique cultural experience.

Castellamare del Golfo

A little harbour city of special charme, with a long sandy beach and a mountain at it’s back. Check out the Arab-Norman castle and the Mother Church or simply enjoy a coffee in one of the bars with sea view.

Erice

A medieval village on the top of a mountain with a spectacular view over Trapani. Considered as one of the most beautiful villages of Sicily, famous for it’s history and numerous churches. You can also reach it by a cable car (like the ones in the Alps) leaving from Trapani. Best enjoyed at the sunset.

Surfing

Wave surfing is one of the things we are stoked about. It requires some know-how though, as the local scene is very small. There are a few beach breaks in the area, you just need to wait for the right conditions to get some – usually – wind swell after stormy days. Renting equipment is […]

Riserva Zingaro

First natural reserve of Sicily, famous for it’s stunning coast line. After a short hike you’ll get to one of the little, sandy beaches hidden in between the rocky cliffs, surrounded by turquoise water. Pass by Scopello village and try the local pane cunzatu & sfinzone. Best during low-mid season (avoid crowds in August).

Fishing boat trip

Join the fishermen on a regular day of work on the open sea. Take part in fishing the tuna, octopus and other species and then enjoy the catch at your dinner! One of a kind experience.

Climbing in San Vito lo Capo

The vertical walls right in front of the sea are a real climbers venue. You don’t need to be an expert – learn to climb from a local instructor and enjoy the adrenaline also on no-wind days! Ask for booking with the climbing school in advance.

Trekking

There are some breath taking trekking/hiking routes around! Monte Monaco is a ~1hour easy trek with an amazing view right over San Vito lo Capo. Monte Cofano requires a bit more effort, ~2 hours trek, but it’s definitely worth the view from the top! Just get your running/trekking shoes, water, sun protection and a camera!

Egadi Islands

Explore the biggest islands archipelago of Sicily right next to us! Favignana is the most famous one, with a castle on top of it’s mountain, a cosy harbour village and some amazing beaches. We recommend renting an electric bicycle to cruise around. The ferries leave a few times per day from Trapani, good to book […]

Hot springs

Enjoy a relaxing hot bath in a wild river or get a nourishing treatment in a nearby SPA. Best at night: Take a headlamp, swim suit and a bottle of wine;)

Sunset aperitif

Sunset aperitif is always enjoyable – especially with a view over the lagoon and with some Italian cocktail classics. Among our favourite places are: Mamma Caura, Le Vie del Vento beach bar, The Seven beach bar, Freedom beach bar and Baia dei Fenici beach bar (the last one located in San Teodoro).

The old man’s fruit shop

A tiny place in a private house on via San Pantaleo. An old man selling what currently grows next to his house, including hand made olive oil, capperi and Marsala wine. Local vibes.

Cantina Birgi

The local wine factory: a place that we visit regularly. Get a bottle or a 5l plastic container filled up like at a gas station.

San Teodoro

A quick swim in the sea or a lazy sunbathing afternoon? This is the closest place with a sandy beach. Playa del Rio is a nice beach bar. From there you can also have a walk to the salinas on Isola Lunga.

San Leonardo

Here you’ll find most of the services you need during your stay: a grocery shop, a fruit store, a pharmacy, an ATM. There is also our favourite local bar to get a morning cappuccino - Bar Molino. On the way to San Leonardo there’s a bigger one if you need a bigger variety of sweeties - Bar Saro.
